Labatt employees from across Canada take tremendous pride in participating in the Terry Fox Run. It’s an opportunity for our teams to join in the community spirit of supporting a great cause, while encouraging and celebrating healthy lifestyles at the same time. We’re as enthusiastic as ever about participating in the Terry Fox Run again in 2015, and are already starting to form teams for one of our favorite days in September.
I’m not a pessimist but I am a realist who knows firsthand how cancer can change lives for themselves and their family. Terry Fox was quoted as saying “somewhere the hurting must stop” – Running the Terry Fox Run the past three years has given me the empowerment and courage to help support the angels, fighters and survivors of this terrible disease.
Team Meikle Productions ensures that we unite our cast and crew from current and previous projects together each year at the Terry Fox Run. During the run, We remember those we have lost and continue to support those still fighting cancer. We plan on continuing this tradition until Terry’s dream of a world without cancer is finally true.
I joined the Great Canadian Head Shave to support the fight against cancer and encourage my friends and family to support the Terry Fox Foundation. As a physician and a scientist, I know that research can offer hope to people whose lives are affected by cancer.
By funding cancer research, the Terry Fox Foundation helps find ways to detect cancer earlier and discover better treatments. The Foundation’s ongoing role as a major fundraiser for cancer research rallies the people of Canada and many other countries to raise money for cancer research, and the new Terry Fox Research Institute will help to bring the benefits of research to patients sooner. Joining the Great Canadian Head Shave was a fun way to support this great cause.

Types of Teams
Get involved in the community and bring staff together to raise funds for Terry’s dream of a world without cancer. Assemble a group of colleagues, friends and family — it’s a great team-building opportunity for your group, company or organization while making an important contribution to cancer research. Being truly grassroots, all Terry Fox events are 100% volunteer led, with a $0 operating budget. Our goal is to ensure funds raised reach their intended destination: cancer research. Your team can also choose to pay tribute to a colleague or friend or family member who has battled cancer. Not only will you be supporting much needed cancer research, your team will be sending a message that no one is alone in their fight against this disease.
