Ride with Us! – Launching on July 8, 2023, the Terry Fox Foundation invites Canadians to join the Ride of Hope this summer, a cycling fundraiser inspired by Terry’s Marathon of Hope. Whether a group ride, solo cycling journey, or ambitious biking adventure, the Ride of Hope is a collection of different cycling experiences across Canada organized by volunteers willing to go the distance to make a difference, just like Terry!
An avid cyclist himself, in 2015 Terry’s brother Darrell Fox challenged a small group of cycling enthusiasts to ride 350 km to reach Mount Terry Fox in northern BC to mark the 35th anniversary of Terry’s Marathon of Hope. This challenge kick-started the Terry Fox Ride of Hope – which now welcomes fundraising Rides across Canada that support cancer research.
“The Terry Fox Ride of Hope offers those who prefer pedalling the opportunity to fundraise and work toward Terry’s dream of a world without cancer,” says Darrell Fox. “The Terry Fox Rides planned for this summer provide participants with a unique opportunity to help keep Terry’s dream alive.”
From the trails of British Columbia to the coasts of Nova Scotia, this year there are 12 unique Rides taking place across Canada. In 2023, hundreds of Canadians will honour Terry’s determination by participating in the Ride of Hope, either in a group or on a solo fundraising adventure, collectively cycling over 6,000 km with the goal of raising over $300,000 for cancer research.
All funds raised will support groundbreaking cancer research in Canada.
