Terry Fox Foundation Appoints New Vice President, Marketing and Communications

TORONTO, May 19, 2021 – The Terry Fox Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Denise Dias as Vice President, Marketing & Communications, effective July 5, 2021. Denise is a senior marketing and communications leader with diverse public relations and engagement experience in corporate, agency, and non-profit organizations. She has developed and executed large-scale projects, special events, and campaigns for some of the most iconic brands in Canada.

“We are delighted to welcome Denise to The Terry Fox Foundation, where she will be responsible for developing and overseeing all aspects of our brand, marketing, public relations, and digital communication strategies,” says Michael Mazza, CEO of The Terry Fox Foundation. “It is a critical role that will not only increase overall public awareness and engagement but also support our ambitious fundraising and business development plans.”

Prior to joining The Terry Fox Foundation, Denise held senior management positions at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) Governors, Edelman Canada, Rethink Breast Cancer, and GCI Canada. She is also a published author of multiple children’s books, a former fashion and travel columnist for Canada’s largest daily newspaper, and an accomplished writer with work in the Globe & MailToronto StarToronto Life, and HGTV.

In this leadership role, Denise will work together with the Senior Management Team and the Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) to ensure The Terry Fox Foundation continues to inspire and engage a large number of volunteers, donors, and diverse communities across the country to fund innovative cancer research projects and world-class collaborative initiatives.
