Join us for this rare opportunity to run, walk, and stroll between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. If the full 13-kilometre crossing seems like a bridge too far, choose whatever distance works for you and your teammates. You can choose to walk, wheel, push a stroller, or run, all are welcome!

Fun fact: Terry took the ferry to PEI back in May, 1980, because the Confederation Bridge didn’t exist. As he ran across the Island, Terry was thrilled to surpass $100,000 in funds raised AND to officially log more than 1,000 miles of his journey. (Canada wasn’t using the metric system yet, so the distance was tallied in miles.)

FIVE WAYS TO GET IN ON THE EXCITEMENT!

1. Register! We’re expecting a capacity crowd so all participants must sign up online in advance. There’s no on-site registration on Run day. Pro tip: You’ll be asked to choose which side of the bridge you’ll be parking on, so think about where you want to Finish It!

2. Start FUNdraising! We’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $500,000 for life-changing cancer research. Pro tip: with our online platform, it’s easy to create your own fundraising page. Then, share the link across your social channels!

3. Volunteer. Great events like this are only possible with the support of our amazing volunteers.

4. Follow us on social media. Pro tip: The Terry Fox Run on Confederation Bridge is just one of the year’s many special 45th anniversary events. Follow us to catch them all!

5. Shop our limited-edition Finish It collection. This year’s Run shirt features the words “Finish It” as a reminder that, while Terry had the grit and determination to finish his Marathon, his ultimate goal was to finish cancer. Pro tip: Choose from short- and long-sleeved t-shirts, hoodies, joggers, caps, and toques. Then finish the look with a water bottle and tote bag!

Check back often to get all the latest details!

Fun fact: The Confederation Bridge officially opened on May 31, 1997. That was the 17th anniversary of the day Terry ran into Saint John, New Brunswick. It was also the auspicious day Darrell Fox arrived to join Terry and his friend Doug Alward on the Marathon of Hope. As Terry wrote in his journal, “Darrell arrived. It was heartwarming to see him…. Got me moving a bit faster.”
